I asked myself the question: “How in the world are so many different people from so many different walks of life with so many different interests, all agreeing on ONE style of wedding?”

The answer is quite simple: They’re not. It can be tough to do things differently when there isn’t an example of a wedding that sparks an idea for yours. Find a local vintage shop (like Our Store Vintage) and work with the owners to see if they can source you a gorgeous relic of a gown (or kickass suit). Not a fan of soft, smoky glam? Not a problem. Consider finding a makeup artist who also does editorial fashion makeup and knows a thing or two about funking things up. Prefer a wedding photographer who shoots with both film and digital and also happens to be a fashion photographer? Well hot damn here I am! Don’t want to exchange vows in an old church? The Griffin House is a perfect alternative. It’s an ideal venue (with insane views) where you can transform it to your exact style. Like I said, the options are endless.

I am your advocate for getting the ever living heck out of that box that everyone thinks they have to confine themselves to when it comes to planning their wedding. It’s all a farce!
